The Dickinson-Iron-Menominee Mathematics Science Technology Center is charged with serving Dickinson, Iron and Menominee Counties, an area covering 3,009 square miles in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We believe that science, mathematics, and the implementation of technology are the necessary foundations for the future of our students. Their success and the future of this country are dependent on the upcoming generations to become mathematically and scientifically literate. We have adopted the philosophy that students should be "users" of science, math, and technology not just "knowers" of math, science, and technology. Community based learning and real world applications will be incorporated at every opportunity.

The purpose of the Center is to:

To improve instruction in mathematics, science and technology for all students in grades K through 12th within our service area.

To provide quality, needs based professional development for K-12 educators within our service area.

To build strong supportive relationships with organizations, both educational and business, in our communities.

This will be our focus as a Center and the goals set in the six service areas will strive to fulfill this purpose.

The six service areas are:

Professional Development
Curriculum Support
Student Services
Leadership
Resource Clearing House
Community Involvement
